1956 Ariel Square Four

1956 Ariel Square Four

We are very pleased to announce for sale a totally original and quite unique 1956 Ariel Square Four motorcycle which was the very machine that was displayed at the 1956 London Motor Show and believed also displayed later at the Paris Show of 1956.  At that time it was the largest capacity road machine still being manufactured in the UK.

The pan seat and black livery were not standard but were specially chosen for this show-machine and this fact is marked on the Ariel workshop sheet.  Letters which accompany the machine plus correspondence from Ariel Owners Club, and Earls Court Motor Show catalogue, as well as magazines from the time all verify it as the show machine.

It has the original buff log-book as well as current V5C and was first registered 08 Oct 1956 to Phillips & Bloomfield,  main Ariel Dealers of Reading, whose badges still adorn the mudguards. Mileage shown is under 20K and is believed genuine.

There is also a period photograph of Charles Bloomfield sitting on the machine when new.

This machine represents a unique investment opportunity.

Only from GB Motorcycles; Wiltshire’s Premier Dealer.
